Northbrook Energy is a privately held, independent power producer that has been in the hydroelectric power business for over 30 years. We identify and acquire risk-tolerable assets via private equity and project debt financing. Through our hands-on management, Northbrook has particular proficiency enhancing the value of hydropower projects to increase risk-adjusted returns and firm value. With a disciplined approach, we continue to focus on acquiring renewable assets and apply our focused asset management platform to produce sustainable, long term cash flows.

Northbrook’s experience and expertise also extends to the sourcing, due diligence, acquisition, development and construction management of hydropower projects. Investing alongside our partners, we have transacted with public and private companies, including independent power producers, investor-owned utilities, manufacturers, counties and municipalities.

Through Northbrook’s fully owned operations, maintenance and asset management company, Northbrook Power Management LLC, we operate 26 hydropower facilities for a variety of owners in addition to our own companies. Our clients include private equity and pension funds, infrastructure companies, utilities, municipalities and bond insurers.
